Details On The Fabulous HHI

We haven't been back from our last minute beach trip for too long and I'm already ready to go back. I could listen to the waves day after day and never get tired of it. I'm super happy the kids are little troopers and don't mind us dragging them on trip after trip. We tend to be gone every 6-8 weeks on a new adventure and they soak it up. My parents left on a cruise today and Lauren said "next time we can go, right?" She loves a good cruise too.

I wanted to remember everything about this trip. It was a little different in that we didn't stay on the island. That's a first for us. We normally stay at one of the resorts. It was going to rain 2-3 days that we were there so we opted to stay in Bluffton, right off the island. We stayed at The Holiday Inn that is located right next to the outlets. They had everything we needed like the suite style rooms, a pool, free breakfast, and free wifi.

This little guy has to wear a life vest near the water. Home boy just walks right in the water like it's no big deal.
After is started to rain on us at the pool, we would meet my dad for dinner. He's working there currently so we got to meet up with Papa every night. We hit up good ole' Giuseppi's Pizza  for dinner the first night. It's so good! Wednesday is a great night to eat there. From 6-10pm you get a 1 topping large pizza for whatever time you ordered it. So at 6:05pm, your pizza is $6.05. Or from 4-6pm, it's just $6. Pretty fancy.

Sweet Connor gets worn out from all the action.
Little L and I went to paint some pottery on a rainy day. I wanted to take her so she could make something for Father's Day. I'm counting my lucky stars that I was smart enough not to take Connor. I just know he would have broken every single thing in the shop.
Her masterpiece. We used her thumb print to make sea animals. I'm no artist. One of those frogs looks evil.
Lawton Stables is a fantastic place to visit if you have time. It's located back in Sea Pines so you have to pay $5 to get in past the guard gate. Your pass is good for the entire day though and you can come and go as you please. We really love Sea Pines. We love to drive and drive. You can look at neat homes, see the lighthouse, eat at yummy restaurants, rock in the rocking chairs overlooking the boats, and see the beautiful horses.
Lauren was old enough to ride a pony. She's one serious rider.
Lawton Stables also has a petting zoo that is free. You can opt to buy some 25 cents food and visit to your heart's content. Both of the kids loved it and we stayed for about 2 hours.
The beautiful lighthouse. Todd and Lauren climbed to the top while Connor and I waited down below. I was sweating just thinking about carrying him to the top.
One of the big highlights for kids visiting the island is the famous Shannon Tanner show. It's a nightly concert over at Shelter Cove. Lauren and Connor loved it so much that we went twice.
Show Connor a place to dance, play some music, and boy is on it.....just like his Daddy.
Big Sissy can put on a dancing show too.

There is a sweet clown at the Shannon Tanner show too. She's so sweet and makes balloons and paints faces free of charge. Lauren LOVED it. Connor, not so much.
The sweetest little boy alive clinging to Momma after he spotted the clown.
He held onto that balloon for dear life but wouldn't dare lift his head off my shoulder.

We played Putt Putt with Papa
I stayed in the car with Connor because he fell asleep about 15 minutes before going to play putt putt. He woke up mad as a hornet as if he knew he was missing out on the fun. He wanted in on the action so so bad.
Father Daughter Monkeys
Lauren begged me to hang from this thing at Shelter Cove. I have this weird fear of falling and being upside down. I attempted a handstand on the wall not too long ago at home. I swear I could do those back in the day. I fell straight down and got "banged up" as Lauren would say. I'm never trying anything acrobatic again....ever.
Lastly, we ended with a good beach day. Coligny Park is a fabulous place to park if you aren't staying right on the beach. It's clean, huge, has fabulous showers to rinse off, nice bathrooms, and a super cool walkway to the water.

Hilton Head

We just took the kids on a fun little adventure to Hilton Head Island. It was pretty last minute but I tell ya, the beach is my happy place. Thank goodness the kids love to tag along.
